Guest month at Kite Tails Designs - part II

Today I'm up with my second project for Kite Tails Designs. This time it is a layout with a photo of baby Jan with his mommy, taken when he was only 4 days old.

The Blue Sky Day collection has such cute elements to create projects for kids and baby's, like the clouds and the kites.

Here is the layout I created, check out the Kite Tails blog for detail photo's. I would love if you stop by overthere and say hi :-)

Use it Tuesday Challenge #38

It is the 4th Tuesday of the month, so it is time for another challenge at Use it Tuesday!

The challenge is: Use that ribbon! Don't we all have lots and lots of unused ribbon in our stash, in all the colors you can imagine? Go get them out and use them on a layout, card or other project!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***
Are you ready? I created a card this time! Shocking, right? lol
I used patterned paper of Basic Grey's Gypsy collection, which is at least 6 years old. I cutted out some flowers and a leaf out of one of the papers. The black and the red plaid ribbons are from Jillibean Soup and the hearts border stamp is from Studio Calico. Another hoarded item is the embossing folder that I used for the background. I have a few of them, but hardly use them. The sentiment is in a typwriter font and I printed it on the patterned paper.
Now it's up to you, grab some ribbon and play along!
Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday September 7th on the Use it Tuesday blog. Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.
As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!
Have a look at Use it Tuesday to see what the other DT members created and please leave them some love!
Thanks for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Use it Tuesday Challenge #37

It is the 2th Tuesday of the month, so it is time for another challenge at Use it Tuesday!

The challenge is: All about school! It’s that time of the year again, summer is coming to an end and the kids are going back to school. Come play along and create anything that is related to school. This can be a layout of the first school day, a card or altered item for the new teacher or anything you can come up with.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

I created a layout with a photo of this cool dudette who is ready to go!

I used papers, embellishments and alpha stickers from my Sassafras stash, I'm still in love with their collections! The "keepin' cool" part of the title is a diecut from my Silhouette.
Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday August 24th on the Use it Tuesday blog. Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use It Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

Summer Challenge My Scrapbook Nook - part 3

I'm back with antoher Summer challenge at My Scrapbook Nook and again with the June kit Simple Stories Summer Fresh. Seriously, I can't get enough of this collection!
The challenge I chose this time: Here comes the sun! Requirement: Take pictures with the sun shining in, get a sun ray if you can.
It isn't that hard as you'll think. Usually you don't take pictures when you're facing the sun, but try it for once and you'll see that you'll get real fun pictures.
Here's my take on the challenge with a photo of Phiene taking a summer bath in the garden.

Simple Stories: Honeycomb Ledger, Yellow Lace, Sunshine & Happiness, Bits of Summer, Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers, Expressions Cardstock Stickers. Jillibean Soup: Corrugated Cloud. Hero Arts: Friends definition stamp. Hero Hues: Chalk Ink Latte. Silhouette Cameo: sun rays,  hexagon mask.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Summer Challenge My Scrapbook Nook - part 2

I'm really enjoying the Summer Challenges at My Scrapbook Nook and it was also a good reason to finally start creating with the June kit of the Nook, filled with Simple Stories Summer Fresh. It is the perfect collection for these summer challenges!
The challenge I chose this time is: Let's go to the beach! I had the perfect photo for it, made during a fun day at the beach with Phiene. She had so much fun playing all day on the playground at the beach. When we left the beach by the end of the day, she asked: when are we going again? That's all you need to hear to realize she had a perfect day! :-)
Just a little note: this photo was taken before she smeared herself with sand and sunblock....

Simple Stories, Summer Fresh: Bits of Summer, Flash Cards, Sunshine & Happiness, Easy Breezy, Country Garden, Fundamentals Cardstock Stickers. Silhouette Cameo, Summer banner by Ali Edwards.

Summer Challenge My Scrapbook Nook

During this summer My Scrapbook Nook is having lots of challenges, all related to summer, to keep you busy. I used the challenge 'Songs of Summer' to create this layout. The title of this layout is also the title of a David Myles song 'Simple pleasures'. This song gives me the lazy, relaxed summer feeling. Simple pleasures is also what came up in my mind when I saw this photo, the simple pleasure of a little one running around in a field of flowers.
To create the layout I used the June kit of My Scrapbook Nook that was filled with Simple Stories, Summer Fresh. A perfect collection for all kind of summer photo's.

Simple Stories Summer Fresh: Summer Quilt, Flash Cards, Journaling Cards Elements, Sunshine & Happiness, Easy Breezy, Expression Cardstock Sticker, Fundamentals Cardstock Sticker. Bazzill: Kraft Cardstock. October Afternoon: mini market stickers green and cream. Jillibean Soup: Journaling Sprout, Butterfly Sugar Picks. Silhouette Cameo.
