DT Paper Issues - Thrilling

I've made another layout for the current issue at Paper Issues In the Navy. I thought this picture was perfect for it. It's taken during a ride on the speedboat Thriller at Clearwater Beach and I was so excited when I got the chance to drive that thing myself at 50 mph. It was such a fun experience!

For my layout I used the Heidi Swapp My Favorite Things collection, some Color Shine sprays and one of the mini stencils.

You can find all Heidi Swapp products overhere in the Paper Issues store and buy them with 20% off when you use my code DANIELLE20 at check out!

Clique Kits - June Honor Society Blog Hop

Welcome to the Clique Kits Pep Rally! Along the hop you'll find amazing projects made with the June kit Show & Tell.

The June kit is chock full of Heidi Swapp's My Favorite Things collection, so the challenge this time is to show your favorite things. With the World Cup Soccer being in full swing, I had to make a layout about it. As a born and raised Dutch girl I just have to be a huge soccer fan. There's no way you can escape the World Cup overhere, streets, bars and houses are decorated in our national pride: orange! People show up in orange clothes at work and for an entire month there's this specific atmosphere that I can't even describe.

At the time I made this layout our team played 2 games and won both of them, so we're already sure we made it to the next round. I made pictures of the TV screen while the results of the games were on. For my layout I grabbed everything orange from the kit and as a base I used this cut file from The Cut Shoppe.

Here's the list of participating Clique Kits members, you'll find a giveaway along the hop as well!

DT Paper Issues - In the Navy

We have a new issue up at Paper Issues, it's called In the Navy and it's sponsored by Echo Park Paper! For your projects to link up you can think of shades of blue, sky, clouds, military, anchors, sea creatures, the sea/ocean, sailing, boats, patriotic or any project with Echo Park Paper products. Echo Park Paper is providing not 1 but 2 collection kits for the winner!!

For my layout I used this picture taken at Clearwater Beach. I'm a 100% beach girl and I can't imagine living far from the beach and the ocean, even on vacation I love to spend my time on the beach. I can't just lay down on the beach, so I'm always looking for fun activities like I did in Clearwater Beach. I used the Fancy Pants Design As You Wish collection that came with the Clique Kits May kit. The Let's Go and anchor cut files are from The Cut Shoppe.

You can find all the new Fancy Pants Design collections overhere in the Paper Issues store and buy them with 20% off when you use my code DANIELLE20 at check out!

Clique Kits - Tampa Bay Rays

Today I have another layout to share that I've made with the Clique Kits June Show & Tell kit. This kit is loaded with Heidi Swapp's My Favorite Things, Simple Stories DIY Boutique, Chic Tags and Pinkfresh Studio.

The photo I used is taken during our last trip to Florida. I'm a huge baseball fan and there's no better place than the States to watch a game, so we went to a game of the Tampa Bay Rays in St. Petersburg.

Home deco - wooden sign

During my last trip to Florida I saw all kinds of wooden signs with quotes in the souvenir shops. Besides the fact that they we're too big and heavy to take them home, I also prefer to make things myself. So when I got home I asked my Dad to make me some of these wooden panels. They are 16x16 inch.

I started with a very plain and simple design with this first one, just to try it out what it would look like. I painted the entire panel white, a very thin layer and sanded it a little when the paint was dry. Then I used these super fun alpha masks by Hazel & Ruby: Blindside and Brooklyn to make the quote. The shells are masks made with Tim Holtz mask sheets and the Silhouette. When all masks were in place I painted the panel in a light blue color and removed all masks before the paint was dry. I let the paint dry for a night and sanded the panel to give it a weathered look.

I actually love how it turned out and I really enjoyed making it. So there are definitely more of these projects to come! Now I only wished I had a talent for drawing...that would give me so much more options.

Pink Paislee - A rainy day on vacay

Even in Florida it does rain sometimes, people! :-) The difference with rain at home is that it's mostly a good shower that doesn't really affect the temperatures, after that it's right back to sunshine and hot weather. Back home when it starts to rain, it rains for at least a week!

During our last trip we had a rainy evening, which didn't bother me at all. I took out my Smash Book and the instax pictures I took during the trip and spent the evening scrapping! As you can see in this picture, you can scrap everywhere.

For my layout I used the Pink Paislee Hello Sunshine collection, which was a perfect fit with the raindrops paper, and added some Heidi Swapp goodies. The Silhouette cut files are from The Cut Shoppe, an Etsy store owned by my sweet friend Ashley Horton. This girl has some designing skills!! Be sure to check out her store. I cut the Around my Heart file out of vellum, love the soft effect it's giving it. The 'good times' is from the 'Let's Talk Summer'-set.

For the latest Pink Paislee and Heidi Swapp goodies, check the Paper Issues store and use code DANIELLE20 for 20% off your entire order!
