Paper Issues - I Mist You challenge

Good morning everyone!

Today I'm sharing a spread made for the I Mist You challenge at Paper Issues. It's about using mists and/or missing someone/something. This page had to be about my dad. Moving 4500 miles away from home means that you have to miss a lot of people that you love. Most of all I miss my dad, always been a daddy's girl and I'm so happy he could be there last August to give me away on our big day!

I used the Paper Issues January kit with Pink Paislee/Paige Evans Whimsical collection and added yellow mist, two flair buttons from A Flair for Buttons and the Full Circle stamp set from Ink Road Stamps.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Paper Issues challenges

Hi everyone!

Today I'm back with 2 spreads in my Boston travelers notebook. I'm almost finished with it, which means my entire travel month of August is documented. You can find all the previous pages in this blog post. For both spreads today I used Elle's Studio's Let's Go Travelers Notebook kit, which made it so easy to create these pages. It came with papers already in the right size, gorgeous labels, stickers and wood veneers and a great stamp set.

The first spread I made was for the #52FridayFavorites challenge at Paper Issues. For this challenge you're supposed to document your best moments of the week in a travelers notebook. I'm cheating a little bit and used pictures of our travels. When we were in Boston, we got to hang out with Kathy Skou and her husband Ed. Kathy is one of my best scrappy friends and two years ago they came to visit us in Saba, so now we had to go see them! They have a boat and we spend a great day on the water, including some fishing. The weather was great, maybe a bit chilly for us island people LOL, but it couldn't have been a better day!

The second spread I made with the kit, is for the Ad-spiration challenge at Paper Issues. Just simply get inspired by the provided ad (see below) and get crafty. I was inspired by the yellow circles, so I stamped the background with the circles from the Let's Relax stamp set. For some more circles I added two Enjoy Summer buttons from A Flair for Buttons.

Check out the Paper Issues Friends & Fans facebook page for all their monthly challenges. They are great and give you the right inspiration to keep documenting!

Thanks for stopping by!

I'm back!

I know, it has been a real long time! The reason I took a break was my big move to this 5 sq mile Caribbean rock called Saba to follow my heart and the love of my life. I only brought two suitcases over, so there was no way to get all my scrapbooking stuff here! Besides that, the move changed every little detail of my life and it took some time to settle in and get adjusted to my new life. From making new friends to understanding island life (yes, that's a thing!) to working completely different jobs. I came from working for a corporate company for 14 years and here I've been working for a dive shop, a restaurant and the Saba ferry. 2018 was a crazy roller coaster: we adopted our fur baby Blink, we got married in Barbados and we bought a restaurant!

Well, that was a quick update on the last 2 years, let's talk scrapbooking again :-) Last Summer I started to feel that itch to get creative again, scrapbooking was always a big part of my life and I needed it back! So of course my first online stop was Paper Issues, my all time favorite for pretty papers and embellishments. I'm not gonna lie...I've also been missing being part of their DT. I was on the team for almost 4 years and made the best scrappy friendships over there! They have great monthly challenges that helped me get back into scrapbooking again. Because of the lack of space that I have here, I've only been doing travelers notebooks so far but I think there will be some 12x12 layouts in the near future again. It will always be my favorite to do.

For this first post in about 2 years I will update you with the travelers notebook pages I've made so far about our travels and wedding last August and will keep posting on a regular basis again.

I like to sew my own journal covers, so I made this one especially for our travels

I made a mesh zipper pouch for inside the journal so that I can easily take embellishments with me on the go.

These were our destinations for the month. Each destination got it's own insert.

That's it for now. Later this week I'll share the travel journal I started about our fur baby.

Thank you for stopping by!
