Paper Issues - Secret Life of Pets challenge

Hi everyone,

I have another layout to share that I made for the Secret Life of Pets challenge at Paper Issues. The picture I used is of Blink with one of her best friends Jack Sparrow. They always want to play with the same stick and once Blink has it, she just takes off. This picture is taken at the Cove Bay, which is their favorite playground.

I used the Pinkfresh Studio Out and About collection, which is perfect for these two adventurers. I added some flair buttons from A Flair for Buttons and stamps from Prima Marketing.

Paper Issues - Secret Life of Pets challenge

Hi everyone!

Today I have a layout to share that I made for the Secret Life of Pets challenge at Paper Issues. Lately I'm taking Blink to the beach a lot more to let her get used to swimming. She hates the water, but it's getting better every time!

For this layout I used the Pinkfresh Studio Out and About collection. It's one of my all time favorite travel collections already. And believe me, I've used about every travel collection that has been on the market. This collection also works great for pages about adventurous and outdoor loving dogs.
I started the page with some water coloring with Vicki Boutin art crayons and Elle's Studio stamps. I stamped the title with a stamp from the Fur Babies stamp set from Ink Road stamps.

Paper Issues - Get Messy challenge

Hi everyone!

I have another card to share today that I made for the Get Messy challenge over at Paper Issues. This time I tried to improve my water coloring skills, didn't turn out exactly the way I want it yet but practice makes perfect :-)

First I stamped the Wplus9 Kind Soul stamp with Versamark and clear embossed it. This way you build some sort of border in between the petals and leaves and that makes it easier to water color it without it turning into one blurry mess. For the water colors I used Vicki Boutin art crayons. The sentiment is from Technique Tuesday Cosmo stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

Paper Issues - Get Messy challenge

Hi everyone!

Today I have two more cards to share for the Get Messy challenge at Paper Issues.

This time I started creating a 12x12 background that I could cut up later on to make cards out of it. On half of the page I used Vicki Boutin art crayons to create a watercolor effect in blue and green tones. On the other half I did the same, but first I used a bubble stencil with gesso, which works resisting when you cover it with watercolor.

This first card is made with just the watercolor background and I used stamps from Prima Marketing, 49 and Market and Elle's Studio.

This second card is made with the background where I used a stencil and gesso. I stamped the Hibiscus flowers with the Altenew Totally Tropical stamp set, fussy cut and layered them. The word Saba is stamped with Elle's Studio Large Jane alpha stamp set.

Paper Issues - Sassy Scallops challenge

Hi everyone!

I had to make another mermaid card for the Sassy Scallops challenge at Paper Issues, loving that pattern and of course loving the mermaid theme!

For the background I used the Dylussions Fishtails stencil and blended some Vicki Boutin art crayons blue tones for the ombre effect. The mermaid tail and phrases are from the Inner Mermaid stamp set by Ellen Hutson. First I stamped the mermaid tail with clear Versamark and then gold embossed it. I watercolored it with Vicki Boutin art crayons.

Water color card

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing a water color card that I'll enter for the Get Messy challenge at Paper Issues.

I used the Wplus9 Design Studio Kind Soul stamp set and colored the flower stamp with Vicki Boutin art crayons in rainbow colors. Then I sprayed the stamp with water before I stamped it, to create this watercolor effect. I water colored the background with a very light yellow. The sentiment is from the same stamp set, the background of the sentiment is a very light blue water color.

Turtle Card

Hi everyone!

Today I have another card to share and I gotta say...this is one of my favorites! First of all, it's turtles. Who doesn't love turtles, right? Second of all, I had no idea how this one was going to turn out but it is better than I could have ever expected.

For this card I used a stencil from The Crafter's Workshop and Vicki Boutin art crayons. I used the crayons dry with a stencil brush and blended brown and green colors until I was happy with the result. The word Saba is stamped with Elle's Studio Jane alpha stamp set.

Paper Issues - Scraplift Sunday

Hello everyone!

For this layout I played along with Paper Issues' Scraplift Sunday and used Stacie's layout as my inspiration. As soon as I saw her layout, I knew I was going to scraplift it!

I used Vicki Boutin's art crayons to create the rainbow and then went back in with a butterfly stencil and stencil brush. The paper is from Webster's Pages, the buttons from A Flair for Buttons, the black foam title and butterflies are from Jillibean Soup, the puffy flowers from Pink Paislee and the stamps from Heidi Swapp.

Mermaid Cards

Hey everyone!

Lately I've been starting to make cards. I've never really been in to it, tried many times in a scrapbooking way, but I found out that it works a lot better for me with mixed media techniques. So I've been watching a lot of online videos and got myself some more stamps, stencils and mediums.

Since I live on this little rock that attracts tourists, I decided to go with nautical themed cards that I can sell here in a local shop. The mermaid theme is pretty popular right now, so I made some mermaid ombre backgrounds with a Dylussions stencil and Vicki Boutin art crayons.

The mermaid tail stamp is from Hobby Lobby, I stamped it, cut it out, colored it with art crayons as well and attached it with foam dots to give some dimension to the card. The phrase is from the Prima Marketing Tropical stamp set and for 'Saba' I used the Elle's Studio Jane alpha stamp set.

For the next card I used a stamp from Deep Red, they have really nice detailed stamps. The phrase is from the Prima Tropical stamp set.

This seahorse stamp is also a stamp from Deep Red and the bubbles are from the 49 and Market Island Paradise collection stamp set.

Later this week I'll share some more cards I've made.
Thank you for stopping by today!

Travelers Notebook August travels

Hey everyone,

I finally managed to finish my TN for my August travels. It became a real thick journal that barely closes, maybe I should tighten the elastic band a bit, but I'm very happy with how this one turned out. The month of August was A LOT happening, first getting married in Barbados and spending time with our families that came over. Then we spent a week in Trinidad and then another week in Boston. So many great memories and I love to have them captured!

This is the very last page, that I made last Thursday during the Live session of Paper Issues. Kelly and Becky are live scrapbooking on the Paper Issues Instagram page and it really helped me creating along and managed to get this one done in their hour live.
I used up the very last bits that I had of the Fancy Pants On Our Way collection.

And this is what the finished TN looks like.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
