DT Cre8tive Cre8tions - Winter view

Today I'm sharing a layout I made for Cre8tive Cre8tions. Their new papers, stamps and flair are just gorgeous and I love playing with them! On this layout I also played with some gesso and I love the snow effect that it gives on this layout.

DT Use it Tuesday - challenge #50

It is the 4th Tuesday of the month, so it is time for another challenge at Use it Tuesday and we have a celebration on this one: it is the 50th challenge!!

We have something new and exciting for you, Use it Tuesday is on Facebook now too! You can find us here and we would love if you stop by and say hi.

The new challenge is use an un-inked stamp and gold.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

I honestly have to say that I never use any gold on my projects, I just don't like any gold or glitter. So there were not much choices for me, as the only thing gold in my stash is embossing powder and a MME label with golden edges. The un-inked stamp was an easy one, I have many of these background stamps that I haven't used before. I used this one with the gold embossing powder and also used the embossing powder on the wood veneer stars and letters.

Now it is your turn to use an un-inked stamp and some gold. Link up your project on the Use it Tuesday blog for your chance to be our guest designer at one of our upcoming challenges!

Thanks for stopping by today!

DT Practical Scrappers - Stitching

Today the On Trend team of Practical Scrappers is up with a favorite of mine: stitching! I use stitches on almost every project, I just love the extra touch that it gives. The only thing is that I totally can't handle a sewing maching, so I have to do it all by hand which takes a lot of time...

On this layout I went a little crazy with the stitching and stitched almost every paper, but in the end I love the effect of it. This photo is taken last April during Jan's first visit at Disney World, he loved all the princesses. And they fell in love with him too... :-)

Monkey business

Today I'm sharing a quick layout that I just made for fun. I'm so looking forward to summer and warm days, that I searched through some photos from last summer to scrap. This one was made on a real hot afternoon last May when I was playing in the garden with Phiene and Jan. For some reason playing with them always ends up in climbing on me and acting like monkeys... I remember when Phiene was little, she couldn't talk yet, but she could make the noise of a chimpanzee and walked around like one. We actually called her Chimpie :-) So the title was an easy one!

I went for the October Afternoon papers and embellishments from the Gossamer Blue January kit. They are bright and colorful and fit this happy and fun photo perfectly.

DT Practical Scrappers - Triangles

Today the On Trend team at Practical Scrappers is up with a new theme: triangles. You'll be amazed in how many ways you can use triangles on your projects!

I made a triangles mask with my Silhouette Cameo and misted the background using this mask. I also used the SODAlicious wood veneer triangle shapes and Freckled Fawn washi tape with a triangle pattern.

DT Life.Paper.Scrapbook - Color challenge February

Today I'm sharing my first layout for Life.Paper.Scrapbook. Besides being a quarterly online magazine, Life.Paper.Scrapbook is also hosting 2 challenges a month: a color challenge and a sketch challenge. Did you know Life.Paper.Scrapbook is on Facebook too? We would love if you stop by and say hi!

Today is the color challenge and we have a fabulous first sponsor: Freckled Fawn!! They are providing a $20.00 gift card to one lucky winner!

So let's get started. This is the first color challenge you get to play with. These colors make me happy and make me looking forward to spring and warmer weather.

Even though I love these colors, it wasn't easy to find exactly matching colors in the products I had on hand. Luckily last weekend my January kit of Gossamer Blue arrived and the Midway and Farm Girl papers from October Afternoon were a pretty good match!

Especially all the colors in the arrows have a good match with the challenge colors. Also the Mr. Huey's Buttercup and Leaf Green are a good fit.

DT Practical Scrappers - Polaroids

You see them a lot lately: Polaroids. They are back in town and the frames are really easy to use with Instagram photos. Today the On Trend team of Practical Scrappers is up with lots of Polaroid inspiration.

I went for some polaroid frames, that I cut out with my Silhouette Cameo. I also printed some Instagram photos, with 2 different filters. In stead of framing my photos, I placed the frames behind my photos. I also used two polaroid frames as embellishments in the top left corner.

Gossamer Blue + My Mind's Eye contest

My favorite kit club Gossamer Blue is having an amazing contest with one of my favorite manufacturers in this scrapbooking world: My Mind's Eye. You can win a spot as a guest designer for both Gossamer Blue and My Mind's Eye!!! This would be a dream come true, so I just had to make a layout.

I went for the Lost & Found 3 collection that came in the January kit of Gossamer Blue. Because I ruined one of the papers with gesso, I had to change the background paper for a paper from the Indie Chic collection. But in the end I think this way it worked out even better. I also added some embellishments from The Sweetest Thing, Miss Caroline and Follow Your Heart collections to this layout.

This Indie Chic paper I used for the background just asked for some embroidery!

My Mind's Eye, Lost & Found 3: Ruby Collage Strip paper, Ruby Red Fan paper, Oliver Decorative brads
My Mind's Eye, Indie Chic: Ginger Travel Tulips paper

My Mind's Eye, Follow Your Heart: Be Amazing twine

DT Cre8tive Cre8tions - mini album tutorial

Happy Wednesday everyone! Today I'm sharing a mini album with the use of flair buttons by Cre8tive Cre8tions. You can find a tutorial how to make one like this on the Crea8tive Cre8tions blog today!

I wanted to go for a mini album that would be easy and quick to make, so you can easily work through some vacation photos or many photos of an event. That's why I went for a repeating pattern in the pages. I turned the buttons into brads and used them as a tie string clasp. Besides the buttons I also used some of the new Bold and Basic papers by Cre8tive Cre8tions.

I hope you enjoy the tutorial over at Cre8tive Cre8tions and if you make a mini like this yourself, please share a link in a comment below. I would love to see how your mini looks!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!
