Mother's Day cards

Hi everyone!

Today I have two Mother's Day cards to share. They are quite similar, I just changed the sentiment.

First I made a couple backgrounds with Distress Oxide inks, one with green tones and one with orange and yellow tones. Then I used the Totally Tropical stamp set from Altenew and stamped some flowers and leaves on the backgrounds with Versamark, white heat embossed them and then fussy cut them. Because I made the backgrounds on thick watercolor paper, I didn't need any foam tape to create any dimension on the card.

The Mother's Day sentiments are from the Best Parents stamp set from Honey Bee and I added some Nuvo Crystal Drops.

Paper Issues - Scraplift Sunday

Hi everyone,

Last Sunday I played along with Scraplift Sunday at Paper Issues. I love these challenges, to get inspired by some super talented ladies.

For my layout I used the Paper Issues March kit with the Vicki Boutin Kaleidoscope collection. First I put some pink and teal splatters on my background paper, then build up the page and finished it with some Nuvo Crystal Drops. The title is made with an old favorite Thickers alpha from Dear Lizzy.

Birthday cards

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing two new birthday cards.

For this first one I created the background with the Hero Arts waves stencil and Vicki Boutin art crayons. The mermaid tail is from a Ellen Hutson stamp set that I gold embossed. The sentiments are from the same mermaid stamp set.

For this second card I created the background with the Dylusions fish tail stencil and Vicki Boutin art crayons. The seahorse stamp is from Deep Red, the Happy Birthday sentiment from Technique Tuesday and the Shell Yeah sentiment and shells are from Ellen Hutson.

Paper Issues - Craft the Rainbow challenge

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing two Mother's Day cards, one of them I will enter for the Craft the Rainbow challenge at Paper Issues.

I stamped this Ellen Hutson flower stamp with Vicki Boutin art crayons. I applied the rainbow colors to the stamp and then sprayed it with a little bit of water to create a water color effect. I water colored the background lightly with purple watercolor and then stamped the phrase from a Honey Bee stamp set.

For the second card I used the same technique with the Wplus9 Hibiscus stamp and another phrase from the Honey Bee stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!

Paper Issues - Swanky Swatches challenge

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing a layout that I made for the Swanky Swatches challenge at Paper Issues. I used the Echo Park Paper Mermaid Dreams collection.

I have to admit that I got a little carried away by all the mermaids when I ordered this collection. Now that I'm working with it I'm having a real hard time with this color scheme. It is too much purple for me. Probably for the next layouts with this collection, I will work with a white cardstock background to tone it down a bit. For the color palette of this challenge it worked out great though!

Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!

Paper Issues - April Sketch challenge

Hi everyone!

It's been a couple of weeks since I made a layout. We moved to a new place April 1st, so I had to pack all my craft stuff, but now we're completely settled in and very happy with all the space we have in our new house! I even have a nice craft corner in our living room.

I made it easy for myself to get started again by using the Paper Issues Sketch challenge. I used the Pinkfresh Studio Out and About collection. I love this collection so much and I realized I had so many embellishments left, that I just ordered more of the papers! At the bottom of the page I added a stamp from Ink Road Stamps.
