Hero Arts August release Very Merry

Hi friends,

I'm back with another card that I created with the new Hero Arts Very Merry collection and on this card I mixed in the Candy Cane Toss Up Stencils from last month's Candy Cane Season release.

I started with the Fa La La Letterpress + Foil plate and foiled it with a red foil on white cardstock. This plate comes with a very helpful placement guide, so you'll get all the words and stars easily in the perfect position.

Then I ink blended some Mist Core Ink around the edges and added a few Translucent Pinks Hero Hues Enamel Dots.

For the card front I used Hero Hues Cherry cardstock and applied the first layer of the Candy Cane Toss Up Stencils with Unicorn Pigment Ink. The second layer of the stencils is done with Cherry Core Ink, which shows a little lighter and more pink because it's applied over the Unicorn Pigment Ink, which I think is the perfect look on the Cherry cardstock.

I'll be back soon with more cards I have created with the Very Merry collection.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

Hero Arts August release

Hi friends,

Today is release day at Hero Arts and there are two new collections. The first one is Hocus Pocus, a super cute Halloween collection.

The second collection is Very Merry and I have some cards to share over the next few weeks that I created with this collection.

For my first card I used the Color Layering Tree Stencils with Core Inks Mist, Paradise, Aegean and Bermuda. I love the modern design of these stencils and how you can quickly create a bunch of cards with them in different color tones.

I die cut the small tree from the Festive Tree Die Set a few times out of Hero Hues Cherry cardstock and stacked them for dimension. The Color Layering Tree Stencils and the Festive Tree Die Set are also available as a bundle, if you want to save a few dollars.

The sentiment is from the new Modern Holiday Greetings Stamp & Cut set and I gold heat embossed it on Hero Hues Peony cardstock. Mimicking Christmas ornaments, I added some Pinks Hero Hues Enamel Dots to the tree.

I'll be back soon to share some more inspiration for the Very Merry release.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

DT Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge

Hi friends,

This time I created a shaker card with the Sophisticated Shells Etched Dies. For the background in the window I white heat embossed the Bubbles Bold Prints cling stamp. Then I played with Hero Hues Reactive Glitz inks Egyptian Blue and African Violet, mixed with water to create a colorful ocean.

I ink blended the Sophisticated Shells Etched Dies with Core Inks and used some of them as shaker pieces and some as decoration on the frame of my card. At the bottom of the frame I used Sand Embossing Powder and the sentiment is from the Banner Days stamp & die set. The clear shaker pieces I added to my card are from my stash.

Don't forget to link up your cards for this challenge, you might be our lucky winner of a $50 gift card to the Hero Arts store!

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative day!

DT Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge

Hi friends,

It's time for the August Stay Crafty with A Blog Named Hero challenge: Splish Splash. We're challenging you to use a water technique or a water image.

I started white heat embossing my background with the Fishing Net Bold Prints Cling stamp. Then I applied a mix of Hero Hues Reactive Inks - Sea Palette, mixed with water. For my next card for this month's challenge, I'll have a video to share with this technique.

I die cut the Message in a Bottle Etched dies and I used the same water with Reactive Inks technique for the bottle and the sand. All other pieces are colored with blending brushes and Core Inks. The shells in the bottle are from the Sophisticated Shells Etched dies. I also die cut the bottle out of vellum to create a glass look. For a finishing touch I added Translucent Seaglass Enamel Dots.

We can't wait to see what you'll create for this month's challenge. Upload your projects here for your chance to win a $50 gift card to the Hero Arts store.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative weekend!

Hero Arts - July Release Summer by the Shore

Hi friends!

I'm back sharing another card with the new Hero Arts Summer by the Shore collection. If you missed my first cards, you can find them HEREHEREHERE and HERE.

On this card the Banner Days Stamp & Cut set is stealing the show. I stamped different sentiments from this set with Sand Core Ink on Sand Premium cardstock to create a background and I heat embossed one of the sentiments with Copper Embossing Powder for the main sentiment.

The shells are from the Sophisticated Shells Etched die set and I ink blended them with Core Inks. To finish my card, I added some Clear Hero Hues Enamel Dots.

Thank you for stopping by and have a creative weekend!
