Mixed Media is totally new for me and because I'm kind of a neat freak in crafting, I wasn't sure if this was something for me. I chose the class 'Big 40'. In this class we made an art journal with 40 techniques in Mixed Media, which you can use as a desk book to remind you of all the many posibilities. This was a perfect class for me to find out if I would like Mixed Media and what techniques I would use in scrapbooking. Of course you always like some techniques and products better than others, but overall it was such a fun and helpful class and Donna is the most fun teacher you can wish for!
Today I'm sharing some of my favorite techniques we learned. Just keep in mind that this is my first time doing Mixed Media, some techniques are far from perfect and need some more practice :-)
This is the 5,5x8 inch journal we made.
The technique on the left page is blown India ink on gesso. The one on the right page is India ink splatters on gesso.
This technique is Distress Stain over wet gesso.
This is stamping with bubble wrap and acrylic paint, one of my favorites!
For these techniques you're writing with India ink. On the left page with the wet dropper tip from the India ink bottle, on the right page with a fine brush. I so need to work on my handwriting...
This is UTEE Gelato resist. Real fun effect. I got myself the entire Gelato collection, so you're going to see more of this in the future.
To not overload you with photos and techniques, I'll share some more this
Friday. I hope to see you back then, I also have to share some exciting news
too! :-)
Thanks for stopping by today!
