And what would a Hop be without some fun giveaways!! Each designer is giving away one cut file on their Blog to a lucky commenter and one winner will be chosen from The Cut Shoppe Blog to receive a $15 Shopping Spree to the Shop! On The Cut Shoppe Blog there's also a free cut file to grab. The Hop will close at midnight on Sunday, August 17th, and winners will be announced on Thursday, August 21st.

For my layout I used the Get Your Grid On background cut file and the new Selfies & Usies cut file. The papers, embellishments and stamps are from the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection and I added some Pinkfresh Studio as well.

Want to win one of the cut files I used on this layout? All you have to do is leave a comment before midnight on August 17th and I'll announce the winner August 19th. It's the winner's choice which one of these two cut files she will receive.

DT The Cut Shoppe - I love you to infinity & beyond

Today I have a layout to share for The Cut Shoppe. It was this Alphabet Soup cut file that inspired me to make this bubble layout. Ashley was so sweet to send me just one of the circles without the alphabet, so I could use the circles as bubbles. I also used the new I love you to infinity & beyond phrase cut file and the Word Frame cut file.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Grandpa's spot by the water

I have a layout to share today about a childhood memory of mine. I grew up with my grandparents living right behind us, from our backyard I could walk right into theirs. It was such a joy to have them close by and to see them every day, especially with my Grandpa I was very close. If I couldn't find him in or around the house, I knew where to look for him: just around the corner he could sit by the water for hours. Just staring at the water, watching the boats, singing songs out of the blue or having a chat with someone. He always seemed to know everyone! I loved to sit there with him, no matter if it was in quiet or having a chat or listening to his songs.

This picture is taken from the spot where he was always sitting on a bench and even though a lot has changed over the years around this spot, the view and the bench are still the same. I don't visit my hometown very often, but when I do get here I love to sit at Grandpa's spot by the water and enjoy the view...with his laugh and songs in my head.

For my layout I used the Amy Tangerine Plus One collection to combine an old memory with a modern design.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

DT Paper Issues - Mix Tape

Hi everyone! It's time for a new issue at Paper Issues and I have a little tutorial for you as well. The new issue is called Mix Tape and it's sponsored by Hazel & Ruby. They provided us with some awesome rolls of washi tape to play with and for you there's your chance to win a fabulous goodie bag filled with Hazel & Ruby products!

For this issue I wanted to make an altered item and incorporate the Hazel & Ruby alpha masks that I have, as well. So I went for this wooden sign/subway art project with a beach theme. My Dad made me some of these wooden canvases and I've worked with one of them before, which you can find overhere. Below you'll find a tutorial on how I've made this one.

So this is what the wooden canvases look like. They are about 16x16 inch (40x40cm).

I started covering the edges and the sides with one of the Fat Roll tapes 'Crazy for Chevy Teals'. Then I used the Blindside, Brooklyn and Central Park alpha masks to set up a little piece of subway art. I used my Silhouette to make some beach theme masks to fill up the gaps. Silhouette has stencil material to easily make your own stencils. Below you see a quick set up of my design, which was only needed to know where to place my washi tapes.

So the next step is to place washi tapes under all the masks, a different print and color under each mask. I used the Quote Me, Define It and Crazy for Chevy Teals Fat Rolls and the Scallop Away Colorful Ledgers and Polka Dot Party sets.

When you're all set, you can start painting over it. I did a layer of white paint first to cover the tapes better and then painted it over with light blue. Before the paint is completely dry, you remove all the masks and you're done.

Now it's time for you to link up your projects overhere at Paper Issues and you might be our lucky winner of the Hazel & Ruby goodie bag!! You can find Hazel & Ruby overhere on Facebook, be sure to follow them and say hi.

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your day!

DT Life.Paper.Scrapbook. - August Sketch challenge

We're having a new sketch for you at Life.Paper.Scrapbook. and this one is sponsored by Scrappy Canary.

Instead of using two photos, I decided to add a cut file next to the photo I wanted to scrap. I used the open road cut file from the Travelin' On set from The Cut Shoppe and made it the same height as the picture. All papers and embellishments are from the Chic Tags Let's Go collection.

You can link up your layouts based on this sketch overhere at Life.Paper.Scrapbook. for your chance to win a prize worth AU$25 from Scrappy Canary.

Scrappy Canary (formerly Polly Scrap! Kits) is Australia's premier crafting kit club, offering monthly Scrapbook, Pocket Life and Embellishment kits. Our kits offer a handpicked selection of the latest papers, embellishments and exclusive items all coordinated and shipped direct to your door. In addition to our kits our store also stocks other coordinating embellishments for those who love extra goodies to play with.
