Sunset

In a follow up of the Life is good layout I had another beautiful photo frome the sailing getaway that needed to be scrapped. Around the water you get some amazing sunsets and I really love this photo with the ship in the picture too.
I have been playing with the Webster's Pages calendar and journaling cards from the Gossamer Blue October kit. The cards have so many gorgeous patterns, that I wanted to use them all. So I decided to create a patchwork background with them. I glued 12 of the cards on a 12x12 inch cardstock and then handstitched all the lines between the cards. Yes that's right, handstitched! I'm totally unable to handle a sewing machine and after many attempts, I'm ok with that now and accepted that fact. So every time you see stitches on my projects, it's handstitched.

Use it Tuesday Challenge #42: Use orange

It is the 4th Tuesday of the month, so it is time for another challenge at Use it Tuesday!

The challenge is: Use orange! Of course this time of the year you see orange all over the place because of Halloween. But if you're living in a country that doesn't celebrate Halloween, like me, you can use your imagination and creativity to use another subject that involves orange.

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***

Like I said, we don't celebrate Halloween overhere in The Netherlands, so I had to come up with something else. For us Dutchies, when we think about orange, the first thing that comes up in our mind is our national color and of course our national soccer team. Soccer is the number 1 sport overhere and when the team is playing the European or World Cup, the entire nation turns orange. People dress up in the weirdest orange outfits and even little babies are dressed in orange.
This photo of Jan was during his first European Cup last summer. I grabbed all my Bella Blvd leftovers from different collections and picked out all the orange stuff. Funny little detail: when we talk about our national soccer team, we call it the orange lion. So the orange lion on this layout actually means something ! :-)

Bella Blvd Baby Boy: Wild about you, Baby Blue, Borders, Cute Cuts

Bella Blvd Sophisticates: Ciao Chip Simply Simona Brownie, Ciao Chip Essentials Apricot & Banana, Quattrofina Mustard & Apricot

Bella Blvd Sunshine & Happiness: Popsicle Kisses, Alpha + Bits
Cardstock: white, orange

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday November 2nd on the Use it Tuesday blog. Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use it Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

What's up dude

When I took some photos of Jan with his colorful toys, the colors reminded me of some Bella Blvd papers. They seemed to match perfectly, so it was very easy to create this layout. I love when it all fits so right and the Bella Blvd collections are always perfect for kids photo's.

Pizza time!

When I have Phiene over for a fun girls weekend, we always have yummie food for dinner. It's really a joy to watch her eating. Even though she's such a young one, she already likes almost everything!
This time we chose pizza and for me the fun already starts with ordering the pizza. She hears me ordering a pizza pepperoni and she starts yelling: 'no, I want the pizza with the sausage'. I think it will take some time before she realizes that those are the same thing.... :-)

Last Friday I received my October kit of Gossamer Blue and again it is one fabulous kit!! It has some gorgeous fall colors and it is filled with Basic Grey, Bella Blvd, Jillibean Soup, Lawn Fawn and Webster's Pages. The weekend couldn't start any better and I started creating immediately.

For this layout I used the Basic Grey papers and embellishments, from the Clippings collection. I already had some papers and embellishments from this collections that I hadn't used yet, so I added them to create this layout.

To add a fun detail to the title, I created a shadow with kraft cardstock. I made the title with my Silhouette.

Cousins

I think this will be the last layout with the August main kit of Gossamer Blue. All I got left is some scraps but I can't throw them away, so maybe one day I'll try to get one more layout out of it :-) I can't even explain how much fun I had with that kit, I loved every little piece of it! Well, the October kit arrived and I already know that this one will give me as much fun as the August kit did. Last weekend I made a layout with it, but I'll show that one later this week.
So for now the last August one. I love this photo of Phiene, picking flowers in the field with her cousins Fleur, Sophie and Olivier.

Mini album in a box

Last month I tried to make it to the Jillibean Soup DT. Unfortunately I didn't make it, but I still want to share the projects I created for the this call.

The first one is a mini album in a box. Mostly I make layouts but mini albums are definitely some favorites for me to create and I always try to make each one a little different. I had some simple cardboard sort of sigar boxes that are easy to pimp up with some paint, stamps and embellishments.
The mini album is self made with kraft cardstock.

Jillibean Soup
Dutch Mustard Soup: Leeks, Wholegrain Mustard, Cornstarch, Dry Mustard Powder, Pea Pod Parts, Journaling Sprouts, Coordinating Stickers.
Bean stalks Orange/Yellow, Sugar Picks Butterflies, Corrugated Houses, Journaling Sprouts - square green, Alpha Beans grilled grey.

A winter day at the beach

For this layout I used the Pretty Little Studio Sand Castle collection, from the Gossamer Blue add on kit of August. With all these soft tones and the words on the embellishments, you would probably have a first thought of a hot summer day. That's exactly the type of photos that I used on my first layout with this collection.
Because me and my family are living close to the beach, we don't just spend summer days overthere, winter days can be great too. It is the best place to get some fresh air and empty your mind on a cold day. So this time I made a layout of a winter day at the beach, with this sunny summer collection.

Pretty Little Studio, Sand Castle collection: pattern papers Summer, Sun Tan, Sand Dollar, Star Fish, Swim Suit. Bingo card, Stencil Flash Card, Bookmark Tag, Castle Flag.
Kraft cardstock, Mr Hueys, Silhouette Cameo, hand stitching.

Use it Tuesday Challenge #41

It is the 2th Tuesday of the month, so it is time for another challenge at Use it Tuesday!

The challenge is: All about fall! The days are getting shorter, the leafs are changing colors and falling from the trees, it's getting colder and we are changing our clothes: it's fall!

***REMEMBER: All of our challenges call for you to use your hoarded supplies! A challenge requirement is to tell us in your post what you used!***
For this layout I grabbed some MME left over papers and some fall die cuts, that I made when I just had my Silhouette, but never used. This photo of Chelsie is made when she was about 15 months old, can you believe she's already 8 now?

Please link your creation using Inlinkz by Friday October 19th on the Use it Tuesday blog. Please make sure to mention you are playing along with a Use it Tuesday challenge (a link is great too!) so we know you are participating.

As always, one lucky participant will be randomly chosen to be a featured guest designer in an upcoming challenge!

TGIF! The weekend is coming and that will hopefully give me some scrapping time.
But first I have another layout to share that I made with a Creative Scrappers sketch and the Gossamer Blue August kit. This photo of Phiene is made 3 weeks ago when she spent the weekend with me. Everywhere she goes, she wants to take her 'bubbles' with her. I love watching her enjoying such simple joys in life!

Climbing your way to the top

I thought it would be fun to play with some sketches again and which sketches are better that the ones from Creative Scrappers?

I turned it around and made some changes to make it a better fit with my pictures. I always love how sketches inspire me and than make it my own. For this layout I grabbed the August kit of Gossamer Blue, it seems there will not come an end to this kit and I love it :-)
