Newton's Nook Designs - Sandy Christmas

Hi everyone!

I'm back today with another Newton's Nook Christmas card and this time I used the Sun Soaked Christmas stamp set.

For my background I created a more abstract beach, ocean and sunset sky by ink blending some Distress Oxide Inks: Kitsch Flamingo, Scattered Straw, Peacock Feathers and Antique Linen.

These images are so fun, this stamp set is definitely another favorite of mine!

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!

Newton's Nook Designs - Choo Choo!

Happy Friday!

I'm still on the Christmas card train, literally for the card I'm sharing today!

The Newton's Nook Designs All Aboard for Christmas stamp set is one of my favorites from them and I love how you can put your own train together with different animals. On my cards you will always find the dog for sure though and I mix it up which other animal makes it on the train.

For the background I made an ink blend with Distress Oxide Inks Kitsch Flamingo and Scattered Straw and added some white ink splatters.

Mama Elephant - Sending Warm Wishes

Happy Wednesday!

Most of my cards are bright and bold colored, so I wanted to try some softer and lighter colors for a change.

For today's card I used the new Mama Elephant You've Got Mail stamp set. I stamped and die cut the mailbox, the bunny and the mouse and went through my Copics collection to see which marker combinations I had to create real soft colors.

Here's a list of the Copics I used for this card:
Mailbox: G000 - G00 - R00 - R01
Mailbag: R00 - R01
Bunny: E41 - E42
Scarf: V00 - V01
Mouse: E21 - E23
Bird: YR20 - YR21
Envelopes: W00 - W0

For the background I ink blended Distress Inks Picked Raspberry, Kitsch Flamingo and Scattered Straw. If you use regular Distress Inks, you get a lighter and more transparent result compared to Distress Oxide Inks.

Before I added my images to the card, I splattered some white ink on the ink blended background.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful day!

Sunny Studio Stamps - Super Jolly Christmas

Hi everyone!

I always love to mix up stamp sets, like I did on today's card with stamp sets from Sunny Studio Stamps.

I used the chimney, Santa Claus, bag and sleigh from the Santa Claus Lane stamp set and the reindeer and presents from the new Reindeer Games stamp set. I drew a roof with some grey Copic markers and build my scene on top of the roof.

The night sky is ink blended with Distress Oxide Inks Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean and I added snowflakes with the new Studio Light Snow stencil and their texture paste. To create some dimension on the roof I applied some Studio Light Effect Snow to the top of the roof.

Mama Elephant - Warmest Wishes From All of Us

Happy Monday!

Today I'm sharing a Christmas card with the adorable Mama Elephant Oh Friendship Tree. These critters are so cute with their coffee mugs and cups!

I started with stamping, coloring and die cutting the three critters and the two hats from this stamp set. For some fun detail, I added glitter to the white parts of the Christmas had and the straw.

To create my scene, I used the Into the Night Creative Cuts die. I inked up the die cut piece with Distress Oxide Inks Salty Ocean and Tumbled Glass. When you add this piece to a white background, the white shows through the die cut holes and there is your snowy sky!

I die cut two stitched hill side borders and then die cut these with the Into the Night die as well, so that the bottom and side edges would perfectly fit onto the die cut with the snowy sky. The sentiment is from the Oh Friendship Tree set as well. I white heat embossed it onto a black card stock sentiment banner.

Studio Light Sweet Stories - Gingerbread House

Hi everyone!

I'm back today with another card made with the Studio Light Sweet Stories Christmas collection and I mainly used the die cut sets of this release.

I die cut all the pieces of the gingerbread house set and the additional set that includes a driveway and decoration. All pieces are colored with Copic markers. I also stamped the gingerbread men from the new stamp set and colored them.

I used Studio Light Effect Snow to add some cool 3D snow on the roof and chimney of the house. For the background I ink blended my card stock with Distress Oxide Inks Faded Jeans and Salty Ocean. On top of this I used the new Snowflake stencil with Structure Paste.

For some extra interest I added the Tree Border die cut behind the house to finish up my scene.

Mama Elephant - Busy Elves on the Beach

Hi everyone!

Today I have a card with a process video for you! I used the new Mama Elephant Busy Elves stamp set and had an image in my head of elves having some fun on the beach. I created my beach scene with Copic markers.

Please check out the video below to see how it all came together.

Mama Elephant - Sending Warm Wishes

Hi everyone!

This week I received my order from Mama Elephant with some stamp sets of their latest release and they all made me go 'oooh' and 'awwww'. Such adorable stamps to create beautiful Christmas cards.

Today I used the You've Got Mail stamp set to create this card. I had also ordered the Into the Night die and I used it to create my scene. I love how versatile this die is. I used it as a window, but it can also be used as a pond or pool.

For the background of my card I used Distress Ink Tumbled Glass and then I glued a die cut hillside and the mailbox image on it. The top layer where I cut the Into the Night die from, is ink blended with Distress Ink Kitsch Flamingo and then splattered with white paint. I stacked the two layers and put the die cut piece back in place, so that I could get the snowflakes out and glued in place.

I added another die cut hillside with a stamped sentiment on top of the pink layer and added the critters to it. This entire layer is popped up with foam squares to create some dimension between the two layers. Then I added some more envelopes from this stamp set randomly on the ground.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your Sunday!

Studio Light Sweet Stories - Sweet Christmas Hugs

Happy Saturday!

Today I'm sharing another card made with the adorable new Studio Light Sweet Stories Christmas collection.

I started stamping, die cutting and coloring all the images from the Gingerbread stamp set. This stamp set has a lot of options to make the gingerbread men and candy just the way you want them.

I used Lawn Fawn Prisma glitter on all the uncolored pieces, so that my card became very glittery and festive. I love doing this specifically on Christmas cards!

For the background I used the new Christmas Candy stencil from this same collection, with Distress Ink Salvaged Patina. The sentiment is from this new release as well. I popped all the images up with foam squares to make them stand out from the background.

Thank you for stopping by and have a crafty weekend!

Studio Light Sweet Stories - Fall collection

Hi everyone!

Today I'm sharing all the cards I've made with the Studio Light Sweet Stories Fall collection. This collection is so versatile and gives you lots of possibilities to create Fall and Halloween scenes for your cards.

With my six cards below, I tried to showcase a wide variety of options, from somewhat scary to cute scenes. I even managed to create a Fall on the beach scene. Beach scenes will always be my favorite!

Sunny Studio Stamps - Surfing Penguin

Hi everyone!

I'm back today with another Christmas card, using the new Sunny Studio Stamps Penguin Party stamp set. When I get new stamp sets in, I always start looking at the images to see how I can use them in non-obvious ways.

I did the same thing with these penguins and there is one penguin that can be used like he is running or even ice skating. But taking a closer look, I realized he could also be surfing on the surfboard of the Surfing Santa stamp set, so that's what I went for.

I created a video of how this card came together, you can check it out below.

Sunny Studio Stamps - Beach Santa

Hi everyone!

I'm back today with two Beach Santa cards, using some adorable Sunny Studio Stamps.

The first one is a one-layer card with the Surfing Santa stamps. To create the beach scene, I used the Ocean View stamps and added some beach accessories from the Beach Babies stamps. You can watch the video below to see how I created this card.

I had so much fun creating this second card with the brand-new Reindeer Games stamps! Santa and the reindeer are having a blast at the tiki bar from the Tiki Time stamps. I decorated the tiki bar with some Christmas decorations from the Santa Claus Lane stamps and added some presents, a candy cane and stars from this same set. I used Distress Oxide Inks to ink blend a beach and sunset for the background.

Sunny Studio Stamps - Fun & Festive

Hi everyone!

I've had some more fun with the new Sunny Studio Stamps release! This time I played with the adorable penguins from the Penguin Party stamps and I love how there are so many different penguins in this set.

I colored all of them, to figure out later which ones would make it to the card. For my scene I used the Forest Trees stencil with Distress Oxide Inks Spun Sugar and Kitsch Flamingo. I stamped the snowy hills with trees from the Scenic Route stamps on a separate piece of card stock, fussy cut it and added it with foam tape on top of the inked background.

Then I started to place all the penguins, I love how one is peeking out from behind the hills. To complete the scene, I added some presents, a candy cane and a cup of hot cocoa. For some extra detail I added glitter to all the hats, candy canes and some of the presents.

Sunny Studio Stamps - Comfy & Cozy Christmas

Happy Sunday!

I'm so in love with the entire Winter release of Sunny Studio Stamps and how cute are these bears snuggled up on the couch!

They are from the new Cozy Christmas stamp set and so are most of the images that I used on this card. I added the fireplace and stockings from the Santa Claus Lane stamp set, which is a set from a couple years ago, but it perfectly mixes and matches with the new stamp sets!

Initially I wanted to have the cat from the Cozy Christmas set in the scene too with the comfy chair, but it would be too much. I managed to get his cute little face in there anyway though, did you spot him in the picture frame?

For the background I used a brick wall stencil with Distress Oxide Pumice Stone and a dark woodgrain paper for the floor.

World Card Making Day!

Hi everyone!

It has been a while, but what better day to pick up on blogging again than World Card Making Day! I hope you're able to celebrate today by making some cards.

In the next couple of days I'll update my blog with some cards that I've made in the past couple months and I'll post them categorized by brand.

Today I'm starting with Studio Light, which is a Dutch craft brand that has a lot of sub brands with a wide variety of craft styles, so they literally have supplies for everyone. I mainly use their Sweet Stories collections as that suits my card making style the most, but also their Essentials collections are great for the basics of card making or creating scenes.

Yesterday the new Sweet Stories Christmas collection was released and it's so adorable! There are two stamp & die sets, four stencils, four die cut sets to build your own Christmas scenes and two sentiments stamp sets.

My first card was created with the Snow Globe die cut set, Candy background stencil and one of the deer from the stamp sets. You can see in the video below how this card came together.

I created my second card with the Reindeer stamp set and the Tree & Snow border die.

Thank you for stopping by and have a wonderful World Card Making Day!
