AECP - For the Guys

Hi everyone,

I managed to get one more card for AECP done this weekend and this card is for the For the Guys course. This is a course I was really looking forward to, because I'm always struggling with masculine cards.

For my card I followed the advise to use geometric shapes. I took two pieces of 5.5"x4.25" card stock and created an ink blend on each of them: one with the Summer Afternoon Crisp Dye set and one with the Cerulean Skies Crisp Dye set. I ran both pieces through my die cutting machine with the Garden Trellis Cover Die and created a new pattern by placing the little square cut outs on a white piece of card stock, mixing all the ink blended colors.

I added ink splatters with some of the Cerulean Skies inks and made the sentiment with the Super Script stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!

AECP - Easy Ink Blending Techniques

Hi everyone,

Today I got another card done for AECP. This time it's for the Easy Ink Blending Techniques course. I do use ink blending a lot on my cards and layouts, but I loved to see some new techniques to use.

For my card I used the Painted Flowers stamp set and white heat embossed the images. Then I ink blended the flowers with Buttercream Dye Ink and the leaves with Misty Moor Dye Ink. I used the darker three colors of the Summer Afternoon Dye Ink set and Nature's Wonders Dye Ink set to mix with water and add water color details to the flowers and leaves.

For the background I used the Garden Trellis Cover Die and since this course is all about ink blending, I used Pale Mauve Dye Ink to ink blend this die cut.

The sentiment is from the Perennial Beauty stamp set.

Thank you for stopping by!

AECP - Clean & Simple Boutique Cards

Hi everyone!

It has been a while, but we have been crazy busy at our restaurant this month and without staff so it's hard to find the time to create. Today was a rainy day though, so it was perfect to make another card for AECP.

The course I did today is Clean & Simple Boutique Cards, which was very interesting to me. I often overthink everything I do, so my cards hardly ever turn out clean & simple. I loved the class with the faux letter press technique, so that's what I did for my card today.

I used the Mega Happy Die to create my faux letter press and inked it with Grape Agate Crisp Dye Ink from the Sugarplums mini cube set. I added gold water color splatters and used the birthday stamp from the Mega Greetings 2 stamp set and white heat embossed it on black cardstock.

I love the classy look of this card and how easy it was to create this. I'll be back soon with another card for AECP.

Have a great weekend!
