Fauxdori notebook - passport size

Hello everyone! I have a new fauxdori to share with you today. This one is slighly different from the former ones I have made. This one is a bit smaller, in passport size and the purpose of this one is not a travelerjournal but a notebook.

In my previous fauxdori post I told you about the local leather store I visited and the unique pieces of leather I got there. The piece of leather that I used for today's notebook is a good example of a one of a kind. It has a mark of numbers and letters on it and the color is ice-blue / grey-ish.

I used pink elastic band to bind it.

For the inserts I used a pink grid digital paper from SonyaDeHart Design.

Thank you for stopping and have a great day!

Clearwater Beach

Hello everyone! Today I have a layout to share that I've made with the gorgeous Simple Stories Summer Vibes collection. When I saw this Shine On paper that I used for the background, I knew I had to use it with one of my sunset pictures.

I have tons of sunset pictures, I just love to watch sunsets and how the sky changes every couple of minutes. Even when there are some clouds, the sunset and the sky can still be so pretty. Like in this picture, taken at Clearwater Beach, there were some clouds and the sky turned into some light pink-ish color. I took this picture from a rooftop bar, which also gives it a different view than when you take these pics at the beach.

Travel journal - leather fauxdori

Happy Sunday! I'm totally hooked right now to the fauxdori travel journals. Last week I showed you my first attempt with a felt cover and it went way easier than I expected. So it was time for a real leather one.

A few weeks ago I visited my local leather store and the place was awe-some!! Leather everywhere, in all possible colors. They usually sell leather for furnitures and other big projects, so they pointed me to a part of the store where they have leftovers I could choose from. I spent about two hours going through all the beautiful pieces. I love that every piece is unique and that will make each of my fauxdori's unique.

The one I've made this week is from a goreous piece of brown leather, which gives it some kind of vintage feel. I used black elastic band to bind it. The charm on the front is a vintage globe and the charm on the side is a coin to emphasize the vintage feel even more.

For this one I've designed the inserts myself again. I used a digital paper from Sonya DeHart Design that mimics old paper and the font is Traveling Typewriter. I really love how it all turned out!

I have bought more colors of leather, so more travel journals will show up here soon!

Thank you for stopping by today and enjoy your Sunday!

Travel journal

Happy Saturday, everyone! As I mentioned earlier this week in my planner post, I'm currently totally into making traveljournals as well. Or fauxdori's as they are called, based on the Midori travelerjournals.

I'm still finding my way in how to make them, what materials are working best and most important what do I find pretty and handy. Last week I've been visiting a leather store overhere in town and got myself some pretty pieces in different colors. I'm working on a couple of them, but first I wanted to try some things out with a felt one. That's cheaper material and not such a big deal if I ruin it. Also, I love having some felt ones as well and with the right combination of colors, I think they're pretty too!

For the first one that I finished I have designed the inserts myself, because I only wanted pages/subjects in it that I need and not having tons of pages that I won't be using anyway. This way I could make a customized one for my next travels in September. The cover is dark grey felt with a soft pink elastic band. Grey and pink is one of my all time favorite color combinations!

The pattern of the papers is a Dear Lizzy digital paper from one of the Neapolitan packs, of course it had to be pink to match the grey felt. I've made pages to write down my flight schedule and hotels I've booked or that I need to remember as I'm not booking everything ahead.

For each day of the trip I have two pages for journaling and also room for an instax picture.

I've added some 'favorites' pages in case I want to add more pictures of the best places and activities.

The last couple of pages are 'must see-do-eat' that I will use to write down stuff that I think of ahead and don't want to forget about while we're traveling. It happened so many times that before traveling I had some specific places or restaurants in my mind, but totally forgot about until I was back home again.

All the planning of a trip is almost as much fun as traveling itself to me. So let all the fun begin!

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy your weekend.

Planner - Love Doki

Hello everyone! I finally gave in on the planner hype and totally fell in love with them. Today I'm sharing my first one and I'm pretty sure some more will follow. Besides the planners, I also started making my own fauxdori travel journals. I don't even know why I didn't start those earlier, it's so fun and an easy way to document my travels. But more about the fauxdori's later this week.

My first planner became the mint with gold dots Love Doki planner. I actually think that it's this planner that got me into the hype, I couldn't resist the pretty color! Mine is in A5 size, the personal size was a little too small for me.

I've made my own deviders as they had to have some gold in it, like the dots on the planner. I used the Teresa Collins Cabana gold foil sheets and cut them the same size as the pages.

For the inserts I used the printable ones from Scrapdelight. There are different patterns in both the A5 and personal planner sizes. I went for the Confetti pattern, love me some cute pastel colors! Besides the calendar pages, the printables hold a wide variety of other planner pages and you can choose yourself which ones you want to print and use.

For the calendar you can choose between weekly and monthly on two pages. I went for the monthly one, that also has a cover and notes page for each month.

I love the project planner ones. There are actually two of them: a planner to keep track of your deadlines and one that is more of a braindump to write or sketch down your ideas.

The next couple of pages are simply a must have for me: books and bucket list! I read a lot, always have, and there are so many books I still need to read. So this is a great way for me to write them down. My bucket list is never ending and it is about time to start writing things down. Most things on my bucket list are travel related, so I guess it will be mostly destinations that will fill these pages.

I'm not sure yet if adding the menu planner is a good idea, I'm a horrible cook! But maybe if I write down a menu and use the fold out shopping list, things will get better. I also added tons of notes pages, because you can always use some extra space to write things down.

There are a lot more pages in the printable set, but these are the ones that will work best for me. Now I need to go get this baby filled up. I will post some updates every now and then.

Thank you for stopping by today!
